Panels overview
What a panel is, how its 17 option groups fit together and how to send it.
A panel is the way into a ticket. It is a message with a button, several buttons, a dropdown or a command, and it carries every setting for the tickets it opens: who sees them, where they go, what the bot says and what happens over time.
A server can have up to 10 panels on Free and 50 on Premium. Each panel has a number. You use it with $panel 1 and it shows up in variables as {panel.name} and {panel.count}.
#Option groups
Every panel has the same 17 option groups. They are all optional except support roles and a category, which most servers want to set.
| Group | What it controls |
|---|---|
| General | Support and additional roles, number padding, two-step close, auto pin |
| Category | Categories for open and closed tickets, overflow categories |
| Ticket | Ticket message, close question, channel names, roles, private staff thread |
| Moderator | Messages for closed, reopened, deleted and the team controls |
| Permissions | Channel permissions per group while open and while closed |
| Buttons | Label, emoji, colour and access of every button |
| Escalate | Moving a ticket to another panel |
| Transcripts | Transcript channel, message, DMs and automatic saving |
| Logging | Log channel and which events are logged |
| Automations | Timed rules, triggers and automatic DMs |
| Limits and schedule | Ticket limits and opening hours |
| Claiming | Claim and release with names, categories, roles and permissions |
| Forms | Up to five questions before a ticket opens |
| Panel | The panel message, buttons per row and attached panels |
| Command style | Opening tickets with $new in chosen channels |
| Dropdown | One menu that opens tickets in several panels |
| Thread style | Private threads instead of channels |
All messages a panel sends are listed together on Messages.
#Send a panel
There are two ways:
- In the dashboard, choose a channel and send the panel. The bot posts it and remembers the message.
- In Discord, type
$panel 1in the target channel. Only dashboard roles, administrators and the owner can do that.
#Update sent panels
The bot remembers every message it sends for a panel. After you change the panel message, its images or its buttons, press Update in the dashboard. The dialog lists the sent messages with channel and date. Update one of them or all at once, and the bot edits them in place. Members keep using the same message.
- Messages that were deleted in Discord, or whose channel is gone, leave the list on their own.
- Panels the bot sent before it kept a record are missing from the list. Open Message missing from the list? and paste the message link instead.
- After switching to or from a Whitelabel bot, the old messages belong to the other bot and cannot be edited. Press Resend all panels on the Whitelabel page instead.
#Premium settings on a free server
Settings marked Premium stay editable and are stored, but the bot uses its free behaviour until the server has Premium. When Premium ends, nothing is deleted. It applies again as soon as Premium is back.
